Řetůvka is a municipality located in the District of the Pardubice Region. The village lies at the crossroads of the third class Řetová and secondary roads from the Litomyšl across the Sloupnice to Ústí nad Orlicí. The intersection turns a blind street, belonging to the village, which runs through the picturesque valley. Along the street is a dead key part of the village population. It lies about 11 km from Litomyšl, 10 km from the Česká Třebová and 6 km from Ustí nad Orlicí, which in the past two years (1989-1990) belonged.
The village is situated in the valley around Řetovka with local name "Husí krk" and flows into the valley of Hradec Králové. In the vicinity of the village is rife fire salamander, which can Řetůvka put into the character of the village. Slopes are covered with a rich flora, nesting and there are many aquatic birds singing. The first mention of the village is from 1292 in the deed of donation of Wenceslas II. His stepfather Zavis of Falkenstein called "Ritow". It can be inferred that it was founded by German colonists.The name of the village has gradually changed, until 1924, when the name of the village Malá Řetová changed to Řetůvka.This title is valid until today.
In 1989 the village was in line with the interference of small communities and their connection to more connected to the neighboring district of Ústí nad Orlicí. After thethe fall of of the communist regime , citizens of the village chose the path to becoming independent again .
